Reports in Zen Cart
By Default Zen Cart can provide some basic reports that can be extended with
report modules donated by Zen Cart programmers. This is open source
software with a large, highly talented and dedicated group of supporters.
I leave it up to the customer/site owner to tell me what they need in terms of
reports since each instance is so unique.
Generally when you open the Admin you will see several summary reports and statistics
about what has been happening recently with your cart. You can also click on the Reports tab for
more extensive report resources:
1. The Products Viewed report shows you how many times each product have been viewed by your visitors.
2. The Products Purchased report shows how many times each product have been purchased. This tells you which items are popular.
3. The Customer Orders - Total report shows that total amount that each customer had purchased from your store. This tells you who are the big spenders at your store.
4. The Products -> Low Stock report shows you the inventory of your products.
Quickbooks Integration
For those who need Quickbooks Integration for accounting and report generation,
there are several modules and plugins that can be added to Zen Cart for these
purposes. Some are free, some are not.
One of the most commonly used free Quickbooks Integration modules is called
Quickbook Import QBI.

If you are interested in a commercial product, just Google "Zen Cart Quickbooks
Integration" and you will find numerous products out there. Use your own
judgement as to what might work best for your particular situation.
Quickbooks Integration is not included in my basic installation and
configuration package. It does take some extra time which depends on
exactly what you choose to install and how it connects to your system. So
I do charge on a custom basis (hourly fee) for this feature.
Custom Reports
When I install and configure a
Zen Cart application I typically create a Custom Report section with a
free sample
report that can filter data and generate CSV (comma separted value) or Excel
files. I will provide you with the URL, Username, and Password for
accessing the Custom Reports section after I set up your Zen Cart.
Let me know if you have special needs as I can usually find a way to present
whatever has been recorded in the Zen Cart database via a Custom Online Report page.
